hi All.
We now have 9 members. Welcome to Charlotte and Nigel recently.
DATABASE
Regarding the creation of a database of pictures and descriptions of
all parts in the FG range to post on www.floralgarden.plus.com ;
Thanks Nigel for a start on the pictures (look on this yahoo group
website to view). Charlotte has also offered to help. Anyone else ?
It is coming together. Whilst not wanting to create only a dry-as-
dust rehashing of the past, it is still going to be necessary to have
a full list of what was made, somewhere, as a reference point. So how
should the information be presented? Seems to me it would be good for
each item, to have a box picture, a picture of the item when made up
and a proper part number for it. I haven't worked out exactly how to
do it yet.... Any suggestions?
BACKSCENES. Conversation offlist with Mandy should now go on list.
There is an opportunity to create backscenes in 1:32 scale for
members use. I have previously made up panorama backscenes for model
railway use. My neighbour can inkjet print on the roll, to any length
and a variety of heights. We have made a backscene 3 metres long
before now, so backscenes scaled for FG should be no problem. I
already have stock pictures of countryside, seaside, and a few other
subjects. Or if you have a set of photos with at least 10% edge
overlap these could be composed into a unique panorama. Anybody
interested in this too?
Lets see if we can create something new. FG is an old toy, but the
potential to do something new is still there. We have the benefit to
exploit techniques never available in the 1960s/70s. Only imagination
is needed to make it happen.
Thanks for your interest so far.
