Hi!
Jon P. here. I've been a member since August and thought I'd introduce myself properly.
I'm in my 50's, married with grown up children and I make my living by playing guitar in a ceilidh band, teaching guitar, working on the IT team of a local school and designing websites. I also have a paper round...
I've been a collector of all sorts of TV and film related stuff since the 1960's, but only relatively recently branched out into model trains, aircraft and toy soldiers/1:32 plastic toys when I sorted out some old childhood toys of mine which were in my parent's loft.
I've now various displays of Britains Ltd Farm, Zoo and Floral Garden items, plus soldier and other figures by Timpo and a growing selection of 1950's and 60's Kelloggs cereal toys.
Why Timpo 1:32 figures and not Britains? No idea, except that they were what I coveted most when I was a lad!
I've also got Triang Minic Ships and N and O gauge trains, both modern and Hornby tinplate, in my collection. My aircraft interests are mainly diecast civil airliners in 1:500 scale, such as Inflight and Herpa.
One of my ambitions is to open a toy museum when I retire and a nod in that direction is an online toy museum at www.bigbear-uk.freeserve.co.uk/TV21 which is growing slowly, when I have time to update it with new pictures, etc.
I initially joined this group to get information on Britains Floral Garden things, but welcome contact from fellow collectors of all sorts.
Well, that's me - anybody else want to step out of anonymity?
Cheers for now,
Jon P.
