I think we could pull some info on production dates by simply
requesting members of this group to look at their Britains catalogues
and see when items appear (someone may have a full set - I don't). I
suggest either starting a new database. which includes a date column -
the existing "inventory" database might be a good start but it is
missing a number of entries and details -- and I don't know how to
add columns to this (anyone?)

Overall we know the main release was 1960-61 and range deleted in
1970. Items like the Floral Garden Folk lasted a mere 2 years from
1967-69. Might want to think about including the Tree Models series
also (released 1962).

I happy to set up this database - but you know what you want to
include - I like the idea of all the data being in one place. Lets
ask the group what items each record should include- Apart from:

Release date
Item number
Name
Contents
Box Style
Comments

Other suggestions?

This would allow multiple records for items that were repeatedly
released. Box design should certainly be included - it appears that
there were at least 3 formats (not including the later Lucy's Garden
re-release).
