I wonder if anyone in the Society can help me to identify the attached
galls. If there is an interest in Australian Galls I will attach a few more
later. I had my previous email returned as four attachments went over the
yahoo maximum.

When I was photographing the plants on our 100 acres of bush I came across
what looked to me like "false buds" and was told that they are insect galls.
I am attaching two photographs and would welcome any identification for the
galls:

1. (i) "young buds" on Lissanthe strigosa (a small heath plant). They many
many times larger than the actual buds on this plant.

2. (id) Fat dark "bud" galls on Lissanthe strigosa, with earth runs (ants?)
on the stems.
