It looks like pocket plum gall (Taphrina pruni) to me. I think the shape can be very variable.

I think that the gall (picture attached) is a pocket plum gall (on Prunus) - but am not convinced as it should be swollen on one side of the fruit and this is on both sides.

Can anyone confirm (or refute) this please
