Thank you very much for your efforts in researching web-links. Ecoport (the first link) 'looks' the most promising. The specimen I have is less circular and I have not observed an ostiole (but I am no expert, especially on mite galls).
I hope to make contact with Mr Gale, who is an expert on mite galls, in the near future. I am still searching for more specimens.
