Hi everyone,
I have just uploaded some field maple pics to my "Maggies galls" file. Gareth
Burton found these strange field maple "twizzlers" at the Attenborough
Arboretum, Knighton, Leicester, SK600015, on 1.7.2009. Compared to the "normal"
shape, the rest are distorted. Leaves on the same twigs are affected by the
mite gall Aceria aceriscampestris. Does this mite also affect the seeds? I
don't remember having seen this before. Can anyone help with i/d please?
'bye for now,
Maggie
