As far as making English-speaking friends that really isn't a problem
in Malta but if you want to make friends who you can discuss the
finer nuances of Corrie with,it can be a little more difficult. Ex-
pats in the late 20's/early 30's age group are not so abundant as the
seniors, and they mostly all tend to be either bankers(no pun
intended) or half of a Maltese/English couple (like my fine self!)
though things might be changing now since EU entry. Funnily enough I
was having a conversation about this with an English friend of mine a
few days ago, and neither of us know of any events or groups
specifically organised for our age group where you can meet other ex-
pats. Now we're in the EU we don't even bump into each other at the
Visa office every few months!
Anyway, enough of my waffle. Personally I wouldn't worry about
isolation - the natives are friendly (even if the immigrants aren't.)
