Hello,

My husband has just been offered a job on Malta - the contract is
for a maximum of 3 years. He would be working in Valletta. Would
greatly appreciate any advice as to where we should live. Thinking
of St. Julians or possibly inland a bit, Attard or Mellieha -
although not sure about how long traveling to Valletta would be. We
are thinking of renting initially - although it would probably have
to be a house rather than apartment as we have two dogs. Also, if
anyone has moved to Malta with dogs recently would appreciate any
information as to Maltese requirements for bringing dogs into the
country. I presume quarantine isn't required now as Malta is in EU.
I also had conflicting advice from British Airways and Air Malta
about transporting the dogs. BA said they could go as excess
baggage in the hold. Air Malta said they would have to go as cargo
as they didn't think the Maltese authorities would accept them as
excess baggage!
