Hi Dorianne
Truth hurts! what do you have to worry about? -have I said something that rings
a bell!!
Why is it that no one is allowed to say a bad word about Malta without someone
like you turning it up-side down.
Everything I said was specking through experience, and btw I run my own business
in Malta and employed many people and had the pleasure of dealing with all the
government depts, have you had that experience and have you lived and worked in
any other country??
If you wish to bad mouth the UK please do so, I'm sure people from the UK will
except the truth if it is, anyway its about time we start writing the truth and
not making out that Malta is some sort of paradise and all is perfect.
Bye
Joe

Hi Joe,
Good morning by the way. Please don't make bad name to Malta. If you weren't
happy here doesn't mean that everybody else is. I don't complain about our
country and I don't do a bad name to UK so please keep your opinions for
yourself and don't try to minimise our country. I think you deal ed with the
wrong people here in Malta that's why you say all this. I have a lot of foreign
friends living here in Malta and they don't complain of anything except that
Malta is a lovely country and its nice to live here.
So please keep you opinions about Malta for yourself and be careful how you
express yourself in the future.
Thanks you.
Regards,
Dorianne

Hi Everyone.
I left Malta over three years ago, but lived in Malta for ten years before
leaving, my parents are Maltese/English but I was raised in England.
One thing the English left behind was a civil Service that's not short of a
Joke, no one cares and why should they! There is a Maltese saying "Malta for
the Maltese" and it's so true, You may come to Malta on Holiday and say how
nice everyone speck's English and it would be nice to live here, after all
it's sunny and the beer is cheap.
Here's a few examples of what I went through, you pay tax and at a higher
rate and get no benefits! sending you child to a private school is more
expensive if you don't have Maltese Nationality (residency don't count) and
when shopping there is two price's one for locals and the other for
Tourist's.
Don't get me wrong I loved Malta until 1996, than it all changed and become
so expensive, considering what you earn and the lack of choice in the shops,
many times we had to shop in several supermarkets to complete our daily
shop, as the Maltese store owner's will not re-order overseas products until
the very last one has expired! very often these store owners will purchase
products abroad either seconds or almost out of date (more profit) I know as
when in Rome do as the Roman's do.
Shipping goods to Malta is a nightmare, so many hands feeding from the same
bone! and than dealing with the customs dept, they are animals, but the good
thing about is that most government employees can be offered Lm5 and they
will do anything for you, amazing how cheap they sell themselves!
Do your homework first and ask the right questions, its not all that bad,
after all it's only a small Island and be prepared for endless electric
blackouts, water shortages and have fun when it rains, as the streets become
rivers, so listen for the warning bells and run.
Please feel free to ask any question.
Joe
