Thanks for the feedback, I am a Canadian citizen/resident, I possess
a British passport because my Dad is British, not sure if that gives
me British citizenship or not, but maybe it does?I was hoping I could
just flash my British passport around in malta like a hotshot and be
granted work permits hassle free, best do some more research. Not
sure what is meant by having to register as a resident in an EU
member state, isn't becoming a resident usually a pain in the but?
I'll move and live there this spring so maybe i should just apply for
a maltese passport.

work permit than any other EU member as long as you register as
resident in an EU member state. If you come up against too much red
tape/paperwork/pen-pushing jobs-worths you can always register as
dual nationality and get your Maltese passport too (which you
couldn't until a few years ago) which could save a you a lot of time
in the long run although it's initially a bit of a hassle.
