Hello All,
My husband and myself are Brits and have been on the island for over 9 years.
We have rented for the full period in the same maisonette since we arrived in a
super little village away from the tourist areas and we have a wonderful
landlady and landlord. They even babysit my resued cat for us when we are away.
I have heard that there can be problems within the renting sector but there are
a lot of people doing it!!!!!!! Make sure you have legal agreements when you
take on a rental property.
Making friends is reasonably easy............... I suggest that you look at
the British Residents' Association Website. It has just been re-established
will be updated regularly each month. www.britishresidentsinmalta.org
This is a way of making new friends and acquaintances.
As for coming to live in Malta.............. you must come with an open
mind............ you are not in the UK, life is what you make it, others cannot
do it for you. All I can say is, at the moment after more than our 9 years we
have not regretted the move...............
Hospitals............... besides St. Lukes there is St. James Hospital and St.
Philips, both private and they both have Websites. Just type in the name
followed by Malta and you will find them.
Hope this has helped a little.

Hi all, I'm new to this group and joined because my wife and I are off
to Malta in September. We've been planning this for a few years and
reckon we're quite well prepared, but we'd still love to hear from
anyone with helpful info! We'd also like to make contact with anyone
already in Malta with a view to widening our circle of friends there.
Brits, Maltese and anyone else - we're looking forward to hearing from
you! Regards, Chris
