Re: [British Expats in Malta] STILL TRYING TO MOVE TO MALTA!!!

The Great has gone from Great Britain, I read that almost a million are leaving
the UK each year, Spain,. France and many other countries are full of fed up
English people, sick of the place, so don't go on about what a Great place it is
(UK) if it was so great we would not be having this group!

Find below a link to a very interesting news article on UK, Malta has a few
problems but in comparison it has a fraction of the UK's crime rate and most of
the crimes are caused by foreigners.

UK is officially the most miserable and unsafe place for children

I did not appreciate your remarks re the UK and what you feel it has turned
into, which I disagree.
Malta has some wonderful people(you and your comments being an exception).
Malta also has crime, violence and drug problems. Although I love Malta why is
it so many Maltese move /migrate to others countries like the UK, suprise,
suprise, for a better life. Therefore the sun and cheap beer is not everything
as you seem to say.

in Malta, i.e. pay rent ect on Lm200 a month, not impossible just very
difficult! as for part time work better you ask the private hospitals, old
peoples homes (Mosta) etc, have you tried Cyprus or Spain? don't worry Malta is
not the only place in the med with sun, sea and beer!!

Patience is a virtue!! I (Alan) am 65 in March and wish to retire to
Malta from the U.K. The U.K. pension is very low so will need some
type of part-time work to "top-up" my pension
(Companion,Caretaking, etc, etc) Will also need somewhere long term to
rent.

Male colleague (Tom,age 55) is also still looking for part-time work.
Qualified in caring for those with Learning Difficulties,Special
Needs,Altzeimers,Downs Syndrome,etc,etc, Also experienced at
Housekeeping,Cooking,etc.

I (Alan)have done Voluntary Charity Work all my life so only worked
part-time and could not afford the premiums for a private pension.
Hence the need for some extra income to supplement the approx. Liri
200 per month U.K. State Pension. We both have excellent References
from Landlords and Employers.

Grateful to anyone who can help us. I will be over again in April. We
want to escape the rapid rise in violence and poverty in the U.K and
have a better quality of life before we are too old to enjoy it! We
just don't fit into a Society like Britain anymore.
