Thanks, not sure where I went wrong with the quotes then, because I got three,
and £3k was the cheapest for a 40 ft container and packing etc. It would
be good to have the contact details for future reference,  thank you.

£3k really sounds too expensive.
We shipped our entire house contents via container( a 40-foot) from
Dublin to Malta for €2000 with Hapag Lloyd.
We had good, reliable agents.I'll be glad to pass on their details if
you like.
