PETITION TO UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL

TO TAKE ACTIONS TO STOP ATROCITIES IN BURMA

We, all democracy-loving citizens of the world, have already came to realized since from a long time ago that SPDC military regime of Burma has a plan to totally eliminate the opposition pro-democracy parties and other ethnic minority groups. And now these ruthless military generals are preparing to pass a pro-military constitution, by using their so-called National Convention as a rubber stamp. Their National Convention is not attended, nor supported by, pro-democracy parties and other ethnic minority groups. And their proposed constitution will enshrine an eternal military rule in Burma.

Meanwhile, SPDC military regime is committing gross human rights violations and atrocities against ethnic minority people, including women and children, in their military operations against ethnic minorities' resistance groups. Recently in Karen State, scores of villages have been abandoned and their inhabitants forced to flee into jungles. SPDC troops ban civilian populations from traveling, trips for buying food and going to work in their agricultural fields. Villagers are forced to build motor roads, construct barracks and haul food supplies for the SPDC troops. They are forced to relocate away from their villages, while their rice barns, agricultural fields and homes are burned down. Thousands of people in the area have to abandon their homes and livelihood to flee and hide in the jungles. SPDC troops are shelling the villages with heavy weapons, force the villages to relocate, burn down the villages, orchards, forests, farms and rice barns, loot properties of the villagers, including Karen bronze drums which are cultural objects of the Karen people, plant landmines, subject the people, including women, children and old people, to forced labor, arrest, torture and kill suspects, commit rape of women etc. openly without restraint.

Moreover, Burma's healthcare and education system are in total chaos and decline. Uneducated and malnourished children are forced in become slave-like labourers and child-soldiers. Deadly infectious diseases, like HIV/Tuberculosis/Malaria are on the rise.

Worst of all, Burma has become a threat to regional peace and stability because of its overflowing HIV cases, its exodus of hundreds of thousands of refugees, its export of opium and stimulant drugs, and its nuclear research program which is running with cooperation from countries like North Korea and Iran.

As these atrocities and deterioration of humanitarian conditions have been going on endlessly, and on the time has come for United Nations to intervene in Burma to save the poor suffering people from endless inhumane atrocities. And United Nations Security Council should also take Burma's military dictators to International Criminal Court for their crimes against humanity.

So, we here solemnly request United Nations Security Council to start taking serious actions on Burma. Please sign here if you want atrocities stopped http://www.tayzathuria.org.uk/campaigns/geno1.htm .
