I. " If not the UNSC "_ Editorial: Tai Samyone
_ There is a significant case for taking the junta to the ICJ on the charge of genocide. However, before this case is heard, there will probably need to be referral from one of the UN bodies – the Security Council, or the Council of Human Rights would be most appropriate. This issue needs to be pressed hard by those who have collected evidence over many years of the acts of genocide against ethnic groups.............
II. " Three Questions on UNSC"_ Letter to Editor: Derek Tonkin
_ US Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs R Nicholas Burns as saying. "We forced this issue onto the agenda for one reason. The Security Council is the only place that can deal with human rights." Precisely. Forget about any "threat to the security and stability of the region"...............
III. " Cutting the Burmese Gordian knot" _ Feature Article: Prof. Kanbawza Win
_ two schools of thought, the one headed by the democrat, wants the real Union of Burma by consensus and the other led by the Burman ( Myanmar ) chauvinist, wanted to rough ride shod over the ethnic nationalities with the intentions of creating one race, one language and one religion. This rationale became one of the reasons of changing the country name from Burma to Myanmar . This group became predominant because it controls the armed forces and rules not by consensus but by armed might and became the source of all the troubles. .............
IV. " The Birth of a new Federalist Party " _ Exclusive Report: Dr. Tayza
_ It seems like a spontaneous evolution of a political group of federal democracy enthusiasts from Burma. They appear as a limited group with an apparent aim of working as an underground movement, at least for now. They even have a policy of "membership by invitation and recommendation only"...........
V. " Why and How Chin refugees fled to Malaysia from Myanmar "_ Commentary: Victor Khambil
_ The name of Burma was changed into Myanmar by the current military government in 1993 in order to eclipse all ethnic groups into Myanmarization.........From 1962 until today, Burma has been ruled by military dictators and.........Martial law is the only vehicle the military regime has to drive 52 millions for more than four decades........ ......
VI. " Junta's Attempted Genocide & International Courts " _ Analysis : Dr. San Oo Aung
_ The words "in whole or in part" were inserted in the text to make it clear that it is not necessary to aim at killing all the members of the group. So SPDC junta can be charged with attempted genocide accordingly. ............
VII. " Workshop on Political Development in Burma" _ BURMA DIGEST News Report
_ The Junta send it men non other than the nephew of Senior Gen. Than Swe. He just sat down and did not speak a word, but is very courteous, and only at the last moment the Nephew spoke up and challenge the sanctions. Many a professor argued it back..............
VIII. " THE WAY FORWARD: Reconciliation or Liberation ? " _ Opinion: Cedric
_ It is almost unknown for dictators to say goodbye to power entirely voluntarily. They step down when they see the tide is turning against them and things are becoming more and more difficult – they decide to give up power "voluntarily" before they are washed away... ...........
IX. " Commentaries on Junta's Hidden Agenda"_ Commentary: Khun Hom & Tiger Yawnghwe
_ The Burmese generals' contempt for its neighbouring country is quite well known particularly when they crack jokes among themselves...... ... Well intentioned democratic Burmese cannot guarantee to control the maha bama chauvinists and to counter such threats of future conquest.........

Over the past 15 years, 210 villages have been destroyed, and half of the population, about 50,000 people, driven into Thailand or other parts of Burma .
