Hi all
Sorry i have been quite of late! Life became hectic here for a while.
But i am back on track again :-)
I am trying to organise the next event and will also be doing a diary
of events for the next 6 months or so.
The next event is a Carribean themed pot luck evening at Butetown
community centre in Laudon Square, where everyone will bring a
Vegetarian or vegan Carribean dish to share with everyone else. I am
hoping to be able to get the community centre for Tuesday 18th March
at 7pm but will confirm this early next week. The community centre
has a kitchen that we can use, although we will have to bring our own
pots and pans, crockery and cutlery. There is no charge for using the
community centre (as i know the lady who runs it) but i will be
asking for a donation of £2.00 each for the Butetown community food
co-op, a non-profit project run by a group of volunteers. The food co-
op will have a display up on the night and the money will enable them
to advertise the food co-op.
I will also be using this evening to ask you to support VIVA's 'stop
selling foie gras' campaign. I noticed recently that some restaurants
in Cardiff still have foie gras on the menu and i am writing to them
to kindly request they stop serving it. The more signatures and
letters they recieve, the stronger the message.
The more the merrier so let me know if you want to bring friends /
family along too (and that means more dishes :-)
I will be in touch again early next week to confirm the date and time
Hope to hear from you all soon and see you at this event.
Thanks
Bex
