Bombardier Orbita - predictive maintenance
Attenda Limited, the Always On Managed Services company, today announced that it has been selected by Bombardier Transportation to provide the IT management and support services for a specialist business-critical application, which will form an integral element of Bombardier's pioneering approach to predictive maintenance.
As the global leader in rail equipment manufacturing and servicing, Bombardier offers products ranging from individual passenger vehicles to total transit systems. The company also manufactures locomotives, bogies, propulsion and controls and provides rail control solutions.
Bombardier's commitment to its customers extends to total vehicle life care, and as part of its drive for new innovations, Bombardier has developed a radically new capability, Bombardier Orbita, which can help to improve fleet maintainability and reduce ongoing costs for train operators. With Bombardier Orbita, vehicles' on-board systems can collect performance information and transmit it to Bombardier's Knowledge Control Centres for monitoring and predictive analysis. Attenda has received a contract to supply the infrastructure for this highly specialised service over 3 years. Attenda's custom-designed solution maintains security, manages interfaces and generates key performance indicators for Bombardier's Orbita application on a 24 x 7 basis.

Med hjälp av bland annat fjärrövervakning av fordon i realtid, internetbaserat dokumentationssystem, aktiv materialstyrning och arbetsplanering med mera, uppnås i slutändan mer effektiv tågdrift för Västsveriges invånare. Dessutom innebär det nya arbetssättet en helt ny standard för säkerhet, arbetsmiljö och miljövänlighet.
Verkstaden hyrs ut komplett utrustad med kontaktledningar, fordonslyftar, traverser, maskiner, arbetsramper, avisningsutrustning, oljeavskiljare m.m. Kompletta verkstadslösningar är ett av våra erbjudanden för att främja konkurrensen inom tågunderhåll.
Underhållsprocesserna som Bombardier jobbar utifrån utgår ifrån det senaste inom informationsteknik och järnvägsfordonsteknologi. Basen i verksamheten är ett integrerat tillståndsbaserat underhåll, Bombardier Orbita. Ett tillståndsbaserat underhåll bygger på att tåget med sensorer, kopplade direkt till underhållsorganisationen, säger till när en komponent är defekt och behöver bytas. Detta till skillnad mot tidigare arbetssätt som styrdes av den sträcka ett fordon trafikerat.
