Cambridge Christian Musicals Society announces auditions for its May Week show

'The Ministry of Death' - being a new musical for one performance only
Sun 18 June in the Big Dress, New Square (www.speak.org.uk/thebigdress)

Greg Kallendar has just been appointed Chief of Section 451 at the Ministry of
Death. Mr Sheen is a cleaner in this lifetime, but in a previous universe he may
have been a government agent. Julia is an enigma, sure of only one thing: her
days are numbered.

'Little Shop of Horrors' collides with 'Donnie Darko' to make everyone look
again at what lies beyond the rat race

Auditions will be held in the Rank Room at Wesley House, Jesus Lane, TOMORROW
(Sat 20 May) between 4 and 6 pm

Both singing and non-singing parts are up for grabs

We hope to see you there!

Hi everyone,

Many thanks to all who helped to make the CUC (Christians in Unity in
Cambridge) service on Monday such a success!

This message is to let you know - apologies for the short notice -
that CUC's Annual General Meeting will be tonight at 8pm in the
library in Fisher House, Guildhall Street (next to the "The Cow" pub).

This is open to all, and is an important annual forum at which for
all Christian students in Cambridge to share their views (be they
about CUC, the wider Christian community in Cambridge, or Christian
Unity in the most general sense).

I very much hope you can come.

The AGM will be followed by Taizé-style worship at 10pm in Great St
Mary's Church, to which, again, all are most welcome.

Steven

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that the Service of Prayer for Christian Unity, led
by Christians in Unity in Cambridge - which includes CCMS, is tonight
at 7.30pm in Clare College Chapel.
The preacher will be the Rt Revd Ian Cundy, Bishop of Peterborough,
Chairman of the Church of England's Council for Christian Unity.

This is going to be a big occasion, and is regarded by many as THE
Christian event of the year for students in Cambridge, so it'll be
great to see you there. Bring all your friends as well!

CCMS is providing a band for the song "Lord, reign in me" in the
service. If you'd like to join us for this as a singer (we have five
already, so you won't be on your own), we'll be having a run through
in Clare Chapel at 5pm this afternoon - just turn up!
(The music for the song can be found at
http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/ccms/files )

All the best,
Steven

Hello,

I hope you are all doing well. This message is in two parts:
1. Update on preparations for the CCMS 2006 musical
2. Request for help at the CUC Christian Unity service on 23rd January

1. Apologies for CCMS's slow progress this term. The script for our
show has been developing somewhat more than originally anticipated,
but will finally be ready after Christmas. The plan now is to put the
show on as a full-scale production in May Week.
With a view to people having restricted availability during exam
term, preparation, scoring and rehearsals for the show will begin
soon after Christmas.
We will be seeking to change our regular meeting day from Monday, as
we have been disadvantaged by the unfortunate fact that this clashes
with the Revelation Rock Gospel Choir's rehearsals. The contenders
for an alternative are Friday evening and Saturday daytime; please
let me know if you have a preference.

2. On the evening of Monday 23rd January, CCMS will be taking part in
the annual service of prayer for Christian Unity organised by
Christians in Unity in Cambridge, to which CCMS is affiliated. This
will take place at 7.30pm in Clare College chapel. The preacher will
be the Anglican Bishop of Peterborough, who is Chairman of the Church
of England's Council for Christian Unity.
CCMS will be providing the music for one of the songs in the service,
namely "Over all the earth (Lord, reign in me)". I'm hoping that as
many as possible of you will be able to come and sing or join the
band for this. Please let me know if you can. You can find the music
(overalltheearth.pdf) in the CCMS group files section at
http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/ccms/files/
In any event, I strongly encourage you to come to the service, as it
will be a fantastic occasion!

I hope to hear from you.

Have a fantastic Christmas and New Year!
Very best wishes,
Steven

Hi,
Just a reminder that tonight at CCMS, 8-10pm in the Rank Room, Wesley
House, Jesus Lane, we will be seeking to appoint the following posts
for next term's main musical:

Producer
Musical Director
Composer(s)

If you're interested in any of those, do come along - there will be
no 'interview' and it will be very informal.
You will have the opportunity to look at the brilliant brand new
script this evening.
Do, as ever, bring or send any one else who might be interested.
Even if you can only come for a few minutes 8pm and 10pm, that's ok -
or if tonight is a problem, but you are interested, do let me know
and we'll seek to make alternative arrangements. I can be contacted
on 07719 101375.

Hope you are all well,

Steven

Hi,
It was good to see so many of you at the Squash last week.

With apologies for the late notice - due to a prior booking for the
Rank Room at Wesley House, there will, exceptionally, be NO CCMS
meeting this evening.

I hope to see you next week, when we will be looking at the script,
hot off the press, for our main Musical production next term - all
welcome, as always.

Specifically, we will be seeking to appoint a Producer and Musical
Director and composer(s) for the show - so do come along next Monday
if any of those are of interest. If you can only come for a few
minutes next Monday between 8pm and 10pm, that's ok - or if Monday is
a problem, but you are interested, do let me know and we'll seek to
make alternative arrangements.

Hope you all have a good week.

Blessings,
Steven

Our first meeting of the year - our Squash - will take place next
Monday evening, 17th October at 8pm.
It will be in the Rank Room in Wesley House on Jesus Lane, which is
our regular Monday night meeting and rehearsal venue.

Wesley House is very easy to find. It's next to Jesus College, and
the entrance, on Jesus Lane, is opposite the end of Malcolm Street.
For a map, see http://www.cam.ac.uk/map/v3/drawmap.cgi?
mp=main;xx=1922;yy=564;mt=c;tl=Wesley%20House

To get to the Rank Room, just enter through the door that's on your
left immediately after coming in the main gate, and the Rank Room is
on the first floor. Alternatively, just meet us outside the main gate
at 7.50pm.

Do come along, for some free food, to meet other new CCMSers, find
out what sort of things CCMS does, including the script for our main
production next term which is being written right now, how you can be
involved, and for some fun and games and a good sing (non-
compulsory!) in the time that's left.

Feel free to bring anyone with you who might be interested.
And if you can't come this week, feel free to join us another Monday,
same place, same time.

Hope to see you there!
Steven
