I don't play a lot of Carolan but every now and then I find a strange
one. Strangeness is in the ear of the listener but I'm wondering if
others have some favourite unusual Carolan tunes, perhaps enough to
make a list? So far mine are "Sir Arthur Shean" and "Miss Noble"
(www.asni.net/missnoble!.wav for a gothic harp clip). Also, I've been
thinking about Alasdair's on-the-beat grace notes ever since he
mentioned it and like using them that way in Miss Noble which I play
in C or lower in G for a moodier effect. I play both tunes legato
with some staccato in MN although now I'm letting MN ring a bit. I
use the Carolan-Delany arrangement for SAS.
