Sad news - outstanding free jazz trombonist Paul Rutherford died
recently. He was from Greenwich and tutored a few times on CL Jazz
courses. Many found his approach original and stimulating. He played
several times with my Dumaine Street New Orleans Jazz Band which was
interesting and could be found drinking in the Lord Hood occasionally
amongst other establishments in Greenwich.
