CL Jazz Summer Holiday School 2007
Saturday July 28th to Saturday August 4th

CL Jazz has been running weekend and summer courses for twenty five
years. The courses focus on providing an opportunity to learn to
play and sing jazz in a sociable and supportive setting, mixing
structured sessions run by tutors with plenty of opportunities to
play with other musicians. Singers and instrumentalists of all
abilities and experience are very welcome. Our tutors cover a wide
range of styles and encourage participants to extend their
experience. There are usually approximately equal numbers of men
and women participants, and in some circumstances children can be
accommodated and involved in musical activities.

The summer course includes structured group sessions led by tutors,
free time (to play/sing with others, practice or laze by the pool),
performances, late night jam sessions and much talk and laughter at
the bar. There is also usually a barbecue, concerts and a cabaret.
Vocalists and players are encouraged to perform numbers of their
choice with a rhythm section in informal settings in the bar, or a
club type atmosphere as well as giving a final concert.

The course is held at Caer Llan House which is near Monmouth, 15
miles from the Severn Bridge. Caer Llan House is a study centre and
is particularly suitable for the course given its relaxed and
friendly atmosphere, good facilities, playing areas, bar and
beautiful location. Accommodation is usually in three/four-bedded
rooms with en suite facilities. All meals are provided.
All tutors are experienced at running jazz workshops for a range of
abilities.

COST: £375 (Inclusive of Accommodation, meals and tuition)

SE109DD giving your name, address, instrument(s) played, phone
number and e-mail if relevant. If you are new to the course it is
useful for us to know what previous jazz/musical experience if any
you have had.
