Hello Phil,
I was going to suggest you removed the 'spoof' e-mail sent
to me. The only thing genuine about it is that it is a GENUINE SPOOF ! Don't
know if you know the circumstances, but a cousin of mine 'added my name to her
list of Friends', without my permission, only telling me AFTER she had done
so. Next thing I knew was an unsolicited e-mail from Friends Reunited (in the
USA) asking if I knew Rita (my cousin). I of course ticked the 'YES' box,
but perhaps foolishly filled in the accompanying 'questionaire', which was
more of an application form.
Next day I found that with that information, they had
accessed my computer, 'stolen' c.100 addresses from my automatic address book
!
Unfortunately these included 2 or more Yahoo Groups, namely UK--LEPS and
C'wall
Butterfly Conservation. Somehow they accessed the membership lists from these
groups and sent 'spoof' e-mails to almost 1,000 members, including your
good-selves I suspect!
Very sorry about any inconvenience caused, we live and
learn ! Anyone seen any adult butter-flies yet ? This was my first January
without seeing a Red Admiral !
Best Wishes,
Roger Lane (migrantmad2)
