Hi everyone,
As you may have already heard, Jon Clifton is running a free dissection
training course in Cornwall in a few weeks' time. This event is now confirmed.
Attendance is free but places are limited and must be booked in advance.
29 March 2009 Identifying difficult moths by genitalia led by Jon Clifton. Joint
event organised by Moths Count, Butterfly Conservation and Atropos. Exeter
University Cornwall Campus, Penryn, nr Falmouth, Cornwall. 11:00 – 16:00.
Places must be booked in advance via 01929 406009 or
nmrs@...
The course is aimed at existing moth recorders who have no (or only very little)
previous experience of moth ID by dissection. There are sufficient microscopes
for all participants at the venue so no one need bring a microscope with them
unless they wish to use their own. People should also be encouraged to bring a
few dead specimens for practise determination, if they have any. Jon suggests
these should be macros but not pugs!
Please pass this message onto anyone you think will be interested.
Many thanks
