TEXT DANCE: an exciting opportunity for youth dance groups in the SW to make their own short films using their mobile phones
Take Art Dance, together with Dance South West, Somerset Film and Video and Youth Dance England, are inviting you to make a short dance film, using your mobile phones.
The results will be screened at the forthcoming Spring Loaded, the Take Art Somerset County Youth Dance Platform on:
Tuesday 20 March 2007 at the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre
and then again at the:
Youth Dance England National Conference, Liverpool, on 19/20 April, 2007.
These are the rules:
Or, if you prefer, you can download it onto your computer and e-mail it as an attachment to: somersetfilm@...
(Once again, put TXT DNC in the subject box)
Somerset Film & Video, based at The Engine Room in Bridgwater, will then edit all of the films into a collage/compilation over a track selected from the recently recorded 'Breaking Bands' album, which featured young Somerset bands.
In addition, we have asked Pretty Good Girl Dance Theatre to make their own 45 second dance film, which we will be sending on to you separately. You might wish to make your film as a response to theirs, but you don't have to. If you want to get started right now, then please do so.
Here's a short haiku to start you thinking:
that special moment
where the place and people meet
select - play - dance - text...
So - good luck! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. You can call 01460 249450 and ask to speak to Rachelle, Anna or Chris.
We aim to use every film we receive, so: get dancing, get filming, get texting!
