23 Tips To Making Windows XP Start 60% Faster
Whenever you start your computer, you are faced with a few moments of
thumb twiddling while Windows XP boots and prompts you to log on.
Although you should expect to wait for a few moments, sometimes
Windows XP seems to boot rather slowly. In fact, you may notice that
over a period of time the PC that used to roar to life seems a bit
sluggish instead. Fortunately, you can perform several techniques that
help Windows XP get the bootup speed you want. This chapter explores
how to put these techniques to work.

Is it possible to flag this up on a website preferably this week and link it to Duchy Ballet's production of Cinderella at the Hall for Cornwall which runs until Saturday evening?
One of the most influential dance companies, Australian Dance Company is acclaimed for fast, physical and technically demanding dance. Trained in gymnastics, break-dance and martial arts, ADT’s dance is a fusion of forms, fraught with risk and charged with an exciting urgency -a riveting experience.
Now, for their third visit to Britain, this powerful company bring an entirely new experience to the stage. Different at each performance, Held is a quick-fire, ballistic rampage from astoundingly athletic dancers, captured via a series of photographs, instantaneously enlarged and flashed onto giant screens. Frozen in impossible flight, caught and pinned down in suspended animation, the raw energy of dance is interplayed with lens, screen and eye to create a mind-blowing excitement.
Held is like nothing else you’ve ever seen –book now!

TEXT DANCE: an exciting opportunity for youth dance groups in the SW to make their own short films using their mobile phones Take Art Dance, together with Dance South West, Somerset Film and Video and Youth Dance England, are inviting you to make a short dance film, using your mobile phones. The results will be screened at the forthcoming Spring Loaded, the Take Art Somerset County Youth Dance Platform on: Tuesday 20 March 2007 at the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre and then again at the: Youth Dance England National Conference, Liverpool, on 19/20 April, 2007.
These are the rules:
Your film must be no longer than 45 seconds
It must be shot using a mobile phone
Please do not use any music (this will be added later - see below)
Choose your own location - try to use somewhere that is special to you and your group
You can use any dance style, wear any type of clothes
Remember - images shot with mobile phones are small and low resolution. Try not to include too many people in any one shot, and think about how you will be lit
You can make as many films as you wish
The theme is: "where the place and the people meet"
The closing date is: 6pm on Tues 13 March
When you have finished your film, text it to: 07976 638980 and mark it TXT DNC Or, if you prefer, you can download it onto your computer and e-mail it as an attachment to: somersetfilm@... (Once again, put TXT DNC in the subject box) Somerset Film & Video, based at The Engine Room in Bridgwater, will then edit all of the films into a collage/compilation over a track selected from the recently recorded 'Breaking Bands' album, which featured young Somerset bands.
In addition, we have asked Pretty Good Girl Dance Theatre to make their own 45 second dance film, which we will be sending on to you separately. You might wish to make your film as a response to theirs, but you don't have to. If you want to get started right now, then please do so.
Here's a short haiku to start you thinking: that special moment where the place and people meet select - play - dance - text...
So - good luck! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. You can call 01460 249450 and ask to speak to Rachelle, Anna or Chris. We aim to use every film we receive, so: get dancing, get filming, get texting!

Dance & Theatre Cornwall Ltd T/A The Works
Registered in the UK at Crusader House, Newham Quay, Truro TR1 2DP
Rambert Dance Company returns to Truro with a breathtaking programme of three diverse new works, brilliantly demonstrating why it remains the country’s leading modern dance company.
The programme includes legendary choreographer Merce Cunningham's Pond Way, Michael Clark's award-winning Swampand the the sumptuous narrative Lady into Fox (pictured).
To book your tickets call the Box Office on 01872 262466
Pond Way
Pond Way is one of Merce Cunningham's 'nature studies'. It is a lyrical, contemplative, often sensuous piece. Cunningham says that the movement may be reminiscent of a game of skimming stones over a pond, which he loved to play as a child.
"This is already a fine production, with some outstanding performances " - The Independent (on the March 2006 première of Pond Way)
Lady into Fox
This brand new production for the Company's 80th anniversary year is inspired by Andrée Howard's 1939 seminal work. Staged by Mark Baldwin and repetiteur Amanda Eyles, this surreal narrative piece follows the metamorphosis of Mrs Tebrick into a vixen, and her disastrous bid for freedom. At times comic, and inevitably tragic, Lady into Fox is set to a specially composed score by Benjamin Pope.
"Reviving Lady into Fox may prove to be one of Mark Baldwin's best decisions" - The Evening Standard
Swamp
Swamp by the icon of British dance, Michael Clark, is modern dance at its most pure. Echoes of Clark's classical background are very evident here, but this only acts as a foundation for his originality and inventiveness. The structure of the work is loosely concerned with relationships and the title comes from the film Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf in which Martha refers to her husband as "Swampy".
Tickets: £10 (RV) - £20.50
Box Office: 01872 262466
*Offer applies to performance on 14 February only. Subject to availability. A 75p Theatre Fund payment will be added to each ticket sold.

A project managed by Youth Dance England and delivered by the National Dance Teachers Association and Dance South West

Applications are sought from practitioners with experience of teaching children and young people who want to lean how to get the most from this initiative. Deadline for applications 3-Nov-06.
Dance Links
Dance Links is a dance specific project within Club Links – an initiative, which aims to improve links between schools and dance providers funded by the DCMS through the PE, School Sport and Club Links Strategy (PESSCL). The first stage of the project brought together the National Dance Teachers Association working in partnership with Youth Dance England to produce Dance Links – A guide to delivering high quality dance for children and young people (DfES, November 2005 downloadable as .pdf document at www.dancesouthwest.org.uk/resources/index.php). The guide focuses on key elements regarding the provision of high quality dance experiences for young people and the way in which their experience of dance can be enhanced through working with out of school dance providers.
Dance Links 2 (2006-2008)
Led by Youth Dance England, Dance Links 2 is taking place to build capacity in the dance sector to increase the links made between schools and out of school dance providers. Making Links is being delivered by the National Dance Teachers’ Association on behalf of Youth Dance England as part of the Dance Links 2 programme.
Making Links: Training and Networking
