Roger,
I'm not sure what you don't get in Lincolnshire that we get here. Most coastal
localities will probably turn up trumps because of the maritime flora. Try Upton
Towans (Nr. Hayle), Penhale Sands (highest dune complex in England), Par Sands
(S. coast). Places along the Lizard coast such as Kynance and Poltesco (National
Trust) and Marazion Marsh Reserve. River valleys such as Looe and Herodsfoot and
the Seaton Valley (S.coast). Penlee Reserve (extreme east of Cornwall), Marsland
Reserve (extreme North of county).
I'm sure others on the Moth Group will give advice.
Have an enjoyable stay.
Phil Boggis. (Cornwall BC Moth Officer)

Subject: [Cornwall Moth Group] Mothing in Cornwall in May

I am coming to Cornwall on holiday at Clowance just south of Camborne
in May and I am keen to do some mothing for a night or two between 14th
and 20th. Can anybody give me some ideas on suitable locations where I
might see species that I do not come across at home in Lincolnshire. I
use a curtain netting tent over a tripod with light dangling beneath
(either 125watt MV or 40watt actinic) - then digital photography. I
also use Skinner and Johnson traps when away from home.

Many thanks
Roger

Phil Many thanks for the info. I was thinking of more southern/south western species that might be flying at that time - no particular target. I will research...
