Re: [Cornwall Moth Group] Eudonia angustea

Hi John and Leon and all,
Can I just say that I agree with all Leon has said about E.angustea. It does
indeed occur almost, if not all year round in Cornwall - rather coastal however.
All the best,
Phil B.

Hi John

I'm sure you're right as it definitely flies much earlier in Cornwall. Here in
Torpoint, I get them from January onward in some years, and always get them by
March. This year one appeared on the kitchen window at dusk on 5th January and
I've had several since, both at lighted windows and in the trap.

Best Wishes

Leon.

Anyone got an opinion on how likely Eudonia angustea is to be found in
Cornwall at this time of year? References I've found suggest it
shouldn't be flying now but I had two moths on 27th March which looked
exactly like it when compared to the pictures on UKMoths, Jeff Higgot's
site and Suffolk Moths site.

Cheers,
John

Thanks again Phil, Leon. Might have known things would be different down here, normal rules don't necessarily apply in Cornwall. Now I have a supplementary...
