At a quick glance looks superb, excellent clear maps, some pictures that look new to me too, a nice touch is various items of ephemera reproduced-tickets etc.
My only personal dislike is the use of sepia toning for some of the b&w pictures, whilst it may give a more period feel (debatable) I find it looses detail, that a crisp b&w would show.
Anyway, well worth having for all Colonel fans and with the two previous books in the series (WHR and FR) building into a really excellent reference work on the UK Narrow Gauge.
Roll on the Snailbeach, BCR,Corris and others!
This series is really developing into what will be the definitive work on the UK narrow gauge and light railway lines.
May I suggest that management push Ian Allan and Peter Johnson hard to get one done on The Corris? Pity its too late for 2009.
