Just something else to put you off meat...

This was found on another group forum


There was an article in a West Virginia newspaper that said that the
government was going to OK the use of viruses spread on meat to
increase preservation. Has any one else heard of this. Wouldn't
virus toxins eventually overwhelm the human immune system?

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A mix of bacteria-killing viruses can be safely
sprayed on cold cuts, hot dogs and sausages to combat common
microbes that kill hundreds of people a year, federal health
officials said Friday in granting the first-ever approval of viruses
as a food additive.
