Veg*n Climate March 2007
Saturday 8th December in London
Saturday 8th December in London
On Saturday 8th December, vegetarians and vegans from across the UK will be taking part in the "biggest ever mobilisation of vegetarians and vegans on environmental grounds!!" The annual Climate March & Rally in London is expected to attract up to 30,000 environmentalists. Veg*ns will march in support of the campaign and we`ll add our own message - "Fight Climate Change with your Knife and Fork!!".
Join the march to:
- Demand that world leaders stop propping up the farming industries that cause climate change. The environmentalists will demand that the government curbs air travel (which is actually less damaging than livestock) and that they introduce a strong climate bill, but as things stand, that won`t even mention animal farming!!!
- Raise awareness amongst environmentalists and the general public that their choice of diet is critical to the survival of the planet!!
There is an increasing amount of damning evidence regarding animal agriculture and its devastating impact on our fragile planet. In November 2006, the United Nations released a shocking report titled `Livestocks Long Shadow`. This extensive document revealed that livestock farming is responsible for more climate change gas emissions than the world`s entire transport network, including air travel!!!! The report goes on to say that livestock production is at the heart of almost every other environmental
catastrophe confronting the planet - rainforest destruction, spreading deserts, loss of fresh water, air and water pollution, acid rain and soil erosion. You can read the report in full here
