Talks, Workshops & Cookery Demos

Aswell as the Wulfrun Hall and the large cafe/bar alongside, the West Midlands Vegan Festival will spread into 2 further rooms upstairs. In each room, there will be a full programme of talks, film screenings, cookery demos etc throughout the day. Talks will focus on a diverse range of issues including going vegan, animal politics, vegan nutrition, saving wildlife through direct action, living foods, kitchen cosmetics, vegan campaigning and lots more. The following talks have so far been confirmed.

Nutrition, Diet & Health

  • Vegan Nutrition - with Dr Stephen Walsh PhD, nutrition spokesperson for The Vegan Society and author of Plant Based Nutrition and Health
  • The Power of Living Foods - with Pat Reeves, nutritional therapist, world champion powerlifter and author of A Living Miracle
  • Going Vegan - with Rob Jackson, education officer for The Vegan Society
  • Yoga - with Lenka Pagan

Animal Issues

  • The Truth about Free-Range & Organic - with Kelly Slade, Campaigns Officer for Animal Aid.
  • Sea Shepherd Conservation Society - with Darren Collis, ship crew member & UK representative for Sea Shepherd
  • Animals Count - with Jasmijn de Boo, Co-Founder & Chair of Animals Count, a political party to help create a better world for people and animals.

Environmental Issues

  • Vegan for the Planet - unconfirmed
  • Vegan Organic - with Rob Jackson, education officer for The Vegan Society

Other Talks

Cookery Demos

There will be 3 separate cookery demos, with Jane Easton, Food & Cookery Coordinator for Viva! and the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation.
