For the sake of animals, people & the planet, please attend and forward widely:
Climate Change Day of Action
including a vibrant carnival parade
Thursday 19 March - Coventry
On Thurs 19th March, a Climate Day of Action will take place in Coventry. Members of Christian Aid, CAFOD, the World Development Movement & the Climate Chaos Coalition will call for a `fair deal for the world`s poor`. The day will begin at 12 noon with a service in Coventry Cathedral, followed at 1.30pm by a vibrant carnival parade through the city streets! At 3pm, a rally will take place at the E.ON headquarters, to protest against their plans to build a new coal-fuelled power station.
Organisers expect upto 1,000 people from across the UK to attend. This is another fantastic opportunity for veggies and vegans to raise awareness of the devastating impact that animal agriculture has on the planet. The easiest, most effective way to help the world`s poor and stop climate change is simply to adopt a plant based diet!! Green Garden Cafe, who catered at the West Midlands Vegan Festival, will be providing 500 vegan lunches for event participants! Let`s tell them that veganism shouldn`t be `for one day only`!!
This event will be an excellent `practice run` for Veggie Pride UK in Birmingham (see www.veggiepride.org.uk ). Why not create a banner or placard with a thought provoking message, or wear a costume of some sort, in order to get your message across! Alternatively, come armed with leaflets for distribution to the masses!
More details about the event can be found on the Christian Aid website http://www.christianaid.org.uk/ActNow/Countdown-to-Copenhagen-climate-change/come-to-coventry.aspx
We know that many people will be unable to get out of work, but if you possibly can, please join us.
Hope to see you there!
Best wishes,
MVC
