After Julian's enquiry earlier today I downloaded the latest version of
SDR-Radio and I've now got a SDR-4 receiver connected to SDR-Radio as a remote
server.
If you want to try using a SDR-4 receiver from the comfort of your own home...
Just download SDR-Radio from here:
http://sdr-radio.com/
Load the program.
When it starts select Input Source and then select Remote(Via Network).
Click Browse and double click on G4HYG (Chris)from the list of receivers
connected to the internet.
Click Connect and OK the pop-up box.
On the Soundcard (SoftRock, FUNCube, ...) settings select a Sample Rate: of
48.000 kHz and a Frequency: of Si570 (Default).
Click on Start and if everything is working you will now be able to control and
hear the SDR-4 connected to a 20m dipole.
It's in a fairly high noise RF environment so you may see noise from local
switch mode power supplies and other sources especially if you tune around 160
and 80m.
You may also see the APRS transmission on 10.1497 MHz every 10 minutes. The
antennas are only a few feet apart so the receiver gets a good overload test!
