I have started a DNA Genealogy group for newbies on Facebook. I use
my maiden name, Renee Mee there if anyone interested in contacting me
on Facebook whether to join my group or just be part of a Cuzner gang
or a friend.
I am trying to teach myself and others the beginnings of DNA research
and as it relates to genealogy as I know very little about it. I
joined a rootsweb group but found everyone talking over my head. So I
am trying to moderate a group that just speaks to the very basics and
does not make people feel stupid if they do not understand basic
science since nor do I. I have been researching graphics that show
the dna examples that explain genealogy and I am trying to teach
myself and everyone else how it works. Hopefully we can all teach
each other as we go along. Also, trying to alert people to when
surname studies open so people can save money on kits to have their
dna tested. I am providing a little more than the usual sites in that
I am trying to provide articles that show both sides of the issue.
The dangers of pursuing your DNA and possible ethical concerns and
the whole becareful what you wish for and of course the positive
aspect of searching for ancestors using modern technology.

Hope everyone doing well in their searches. Sure is darn cold here in
BC. My dog goes in for surgery next week, twelve bladder stones. I
can hear all the guys in here going ouch....yup he is having one heck
of a time peeing. So should be around house couple weeks while poor
