Re: Lets do a roll call.....First of all, list Country, Prov,State or City

I know Maria did and I'm fairly certain that Thomas did as well. I've found a
passenger ship list on ancestry.com that shows the Cuzner women arriving in New
York on the Vibilia 29 Oct 1832 (Maria, Charlotte, Sophia, Susan, and Mary).
Thomas is not listed with them and perhaps went ahead to scout and then sent for
them. I've found a Ths Cuzner (incorrectly transcribed in Ancestry.com as
Cugner) listed as a merchant in the 1850 US Census (Brooklyn Ward 3, Kings, New
York, roll M432_517, page 219, image 442.) living with John Cordey (a clerk) who
is married to Charlotte Cordey who is the right age to be the daughter of Thomas
and Maria. By 1860 Thomas is living with a Jane Cuzner and a Mrs. French with
whom he operates a dry good store. I've wondered if this Jane is a second wife
due to her birth place being NY or if it is really his sister Jane Greenland
Cuzner (I haven't worked on Jane or this theory much). I've also found directory
listings for Cuzner and French in Brooklyn. The 1860 census lists him as T. G.
Cuzner (Ancestry incorrectly transcribed it as F. G. Cuzner) and I theorize that
the G is for Greenland which was the middle name that John and Mary gave to
Jane. Thomas and Maria's son, Henry married Jane Best in London where the family
was living and came to New York several years later. When their son Thomas died
in 1849, his widow and children moved to New York and may have had a connection
to Thomas Sr for business purposes (she opened a fancy good store and probably
would have required a male sponsor or business partner to do so in 1850's New
York).

That's all I have on this family. I've tried to trace the Cordey's and I've
found a reference to a death notice in the New York Herald for Thomas, but I
haven't been able to look at the notice yet, so I don't havce any details.
