Thanks a lot for all your work in booking this one up! Me and Emma are both free for the weekend.
If anyone did have particular authors in mind on top of the genres that Cilente has suggested, feel free to name names!
The accommodation looks good, and it also looks like the place has run other residential courses in the arts, so it'll be used to the sort of thing we are doing.

Hi Everyone
You will no doubt be pleased to know that the venue for the weekend
has been booked for 23-25 November (Friday and Saturday night).
We can now think about which guest author we would like to invite to
do a workshop/reading with us. As a starter, we need to get some
feedback regarding the genre most of us are interested in.
Alex will be organising this for us, but to give him an idea, could
you please get back with your preferences (ranked in order?) out of
the following options:
Crime
Fantasy
Horror
Poetry
Sci-fi
Children's/YA
Also, I have paid a deposit for the venue, so we need to get £10 off
everyone who will be attending at our next Scribes meeting, please.
Dan C - we need to think about opening a bank account for the group...
The total cost, including accommodation, meals, guest author,
facilitation of workshops etc. will be between £85 and £100 per
person, depending on the number of people attending. This is highly
reasonable, compared to similar events being run elsewhere. The
maximum will be 12 (we will have to share rooms - but that shouldn't
be a problem). To check out the accommodation you can look at
