Hi, we are Philip and Sharon, and we live in Northern Ireland. On the
19th July
2004 we lost our beloved dog Tavey to a heart attack. Tavey was a
doberman, the 3rd doberman we have had. He was the most intelligent
of all our dobermans, (but that`s not a slate on our other two!) and
he
was very special for one particular reason. We can`t divulge that
reason right now, but it will become apparent to anyone with
information on his past.
Tavey came to us by way of a rescue home, and we never could figure
out why anyone would have wanted to let him go, but thankfully for
us, they did and we gave him a home and he enriched our lives
immensly. As a Dobie
owner, i`m sure you understand just exactly what we mean.
So now to the reason for this appeal. As Tavey came from a rescue
home, there was no paperwork to tell us what his pedigree was, or
indeed where he had been bred. What we are hoing for is that someone
can help us fill in the missing pieces, and for this we are asking
Dobie owners if they could do something for us.
Have a look at your dog as he is walking away from you, and ask
yourself, does that bum look like Naomi Campbells, as she walks back
down a catwalk??
No I am not joking, i`m very serious, as it is a trait that we have
never seen in a Dobie before, and believe that it could help in our
search. He also stood with his front two paws very close together,
anoyher trait we haven`t seen.
As there was no paperwork, we don`t know where Tavey was
bred, so even if you don`t live in the UK, don`t worry about that.
There are other things about Tavey that we have not seen in our other
dogs or anyone elses for that matter, so we do have other ways of
finding a link. We miss him terribly, and would dearly love to find
another Dobie with his traits.
I know to some people this may seem like an impossible task, but we
believe that there is someone, somewhere who may be able to help us.
If you can help, then please contact us at
philip@...
We have photos of Tavey that we will send if you think you can
recognise him. Perhaps you know of someone else who had a Dobie just
like this. Or perhaps you are a breeder and this info rings a bell. We believe
that Tavey would have been approximately 7-8 years old, so there is a good
chance his siblings are still alive.
We promise that all information will be treated in confidence, and we
won`t be passing your details on to a third party.
Thank you all in advance.
Philip and Sharon
In memory of Tavey
