Re: puppy & Adult play
hi sharon,
this is hard as the dog only wants to play but dobermann play always
ends in tears lol they get too rough, one hurts the other then they
squabble.
if the puppy isnt intimiated for frightened by your boy then let them
carry on,if you see that he is hurting her or frightening her then you
ill have to step in and merely put a stop to play.
my boy is the same he can dish it out and really plays rough and its
very vocal so much so you cant hear the TV his talking when he plays
is unbearable.he dishes it out to my dachs but when my dachs gives it
back he cant take it and they start bickering ,not fighting but a lot
of telling off by both then they get the slipper thrown at them and
then its calm and snoozes again lol.
the best way for a dog to learn in my opinion is by another dog but
your girl is a little to young to teach your boy when to stop.
the good thing is that dobie dogs have high respect for bitches and
will tolerate them a lot more than they would another breed and so its
not impossible for a fight but its extreamly rare usually it results
in a right old married cuple slanging match lol lots of noise but no
contact is made .
wait and see ,when your girl grows up he will think twice about
wanting to play with her in the manner he does because he will know
when she has had enough he will be for sure told so.
going abck to your original Q see how your girl copes and of she is
totally unpreturbed by his antics let them play if she is frightend
then put a stop to it.
if she is scared by him at this age this could (im not saying it will)
but it could make her shy of dogs when she is older and put her on
the defensive when she is approached by another when out walking.
now on the other hand she could turn out like your boy LOL ho ho and
you have two thugs instead on one .
i wish you well and i loved having a pair sadly i only have one now
kind regards
jackie xx
