hi all,

i am hoping to get some helpful info. my dobie timber loves to run (he is 5 1/2
yrs)-fast: he can run right along the greyhounds!
anyhoo-about 4 weeks ago, as he was running his back leg went into a hole
(courtesy of one of the dogs at the dog park) and he fell forward. he limped
for about 1 1/2 days-i rested him for appr 3-4 days. we returned to the park,
where a guy was running his remote controlled truck-of course timber chased it
endlessly. finally i leashed him and pulled him away. again-limping. rest for
a few days. well i just went to the vet and he injured his knee. he is to rest
for 2 weeks while taking rimadyl (sp). (he has also gained 10 pds-he goes to
park everyday to run). i asked the vet if there was anything other than
rimadyl-she said cortisone-but too many side effects, more than with rimadyl.
and another drug-cant remember starts out with glu....-she said that it was too
weak for the type of injury.

QUESTION: thoughts on taking rimadyl short-term-2 weeks or if anyone knows of
any other medicine.

i live in usa/pennsylvania

thanks a bunch!

eM Keller
