My female is 3 years old and was the product of a strong Belgum and
German lineage in Europe. She is 72 pounds full grown, soft ears and
and extremely congenial disposition.
We gave everyone that appeared at our door a piece of liver and as a
result people are always welcomed with a wagging stubby tail.
However, and there is always a "however or but"!! We have had
allergy problems and urinary track infection problems. She was a
real handful till she got to about 14 months than she decided to
become a "real dobe".
We taught her to swim early and by 9 months was out-stroking the
neighbours Lab with ease. I swim here everyday and the wife runs her
in the money (wife is a jogger)
For two years we have not had a problem, other than Canine acne
which we still are not able to completely cure and an occassional
allergenic reaction to something she ate that resulted in small
bumps about 1/4 of a pencil eraser in size appearing on the top of
her head and occasionally on the back of the neck.
After a couple of days or a week they would disappear.
I swim her everyday as mentioned, and expected some skin problems.
Well she has bumps on her left rear leg some the size of an pencil
eraser and many that are the same size as her allergy bumps.
There is a slight discolloration to the bumps and was wondering if
anyone knows where there are pictures of a Dobe with CDA on the net?
I am not sure it is CDA and will take her to the vet by end of week,
but wanted to understand more of this skin disease. I have found
write ups but no pictures as of yet.
Any help would be appreciated.
