Harsh on Mr Hanks really. I'm just reading William Goldman's Adventures
In The Screen Trade, and his Auteurs section he says there actually no
auteurs (except Russ Meyer, and I guess now Robert Rodriguez), movies
are a group process. He reckons 7 people are crucial to a films quality,
namely,
the actor
the cameraman
the director
the editor
the producer
the production designer
the writer
plus on occasions, the composer or special effects team. So Mr Hanks may
be partly responsible, but not solely.
