Hello everyone
I've had a fwe e-mail problems lately so apologies in advance if this
duplicates information you already have or something that's already
been discussed.
I got an e-mail this afternoon from the Duke's about some foreign
langauge films. I'm particularly interested in these two and was
wondering if anyone else fancied coming along.

FINNISH
Frozen Land (18)
Sunday 17 December
A brilliantly devised web of interconnecting fates, Frozen Land is an
intense, fast paced depiction of a gritty Helsinki, which bounces
between stories and characters' lives, set into motion by the printing
of a forged 500 Euro note. Semi improvised dialogue and gripping visuals
form the backdrop for a powerful collection of performances, from a pair
of young computer hackers and a depressed policewoman, to a
mullet-haired car thief and a vacuum salesman and recovering alcoholic,
who falls off the wagon with a vengeance.
FRENCH/GERMAN
Joyeux Noel (Merry Christmas) (12A)
Wednesday 20 December
By Christmas Eve 1914 one of the bloodiest wars the world has ever seen
was well under way. Joyeux Noel is inspired by the surprising true
events that happened along the battlefront that day as seen through the
amazed eyes of four people from different countries: a Scottish
minister, a French lieutenant, a German tenor and a Danish soprano.
These heroes find themselves at the centre of an unprecedented and
unthinkable fraternization between German, French, and British soldiers,
who left rifles at the bottom of trenches to shake hands, exchange a
cigarette and a piece of chocolate and wish each other ''Merry
Christmas''.
