Hi all, finally found out what it would be like to be part of an
active Dukes Film Group! I was in Glasgow at the weekend and was
passing the CCA (Centre for Contemporary Arts) just as the
Barbarians were about to start, so decided to go and see it. It's a
small screen and there were in fact (at 6/15 pm on a hot day) only
four of us watching it. So at the end I asked the other couple (the
fourth person was the doorman!) if they wanted to go and have
something to eat... and we had a gorgeous meal at the CCA and talked
about the wonderful, meaningful, complicated, full, difficult, sad,
wonderful (again) film for the whole time - they were really nice, I
assumed they were a couple anyway, but at the very end it turned out
they were a Catholic Priest and a Catholic Nun - which made the
conversation (about the end of god's relevance for humanity, etc)
related to the film, particularly relevant....
sorry I'm not there this evening for the 7.30 showing of whatever
you had wanted to see Cliff...
next time?
Fiona
ps we should get lots of people to join this email list!
