Sorry I missed the first meeting, but not so for missing the film.  I had only returned to Lancaster from being away after Monday 2^nd anyway!

At last!  The first proper Duke's film group meet-up occurred at Uzak
on Monday 2nd.  Good company, shame about the film.

For the first five minutes I thought it was going to be great, then I
found it more and more leaden, so much so that I started nodding off,
although this might have been connected with the fact that I'd come
straight from work and had had a pint of Hoegaarden for my tea.  Then
when I sensed it was ending I was praying that every scene would be
the last.

The best bit was discussing the film (or what bits of it I saw) with
Fiona and Phil.  It was a nice change to get someone else's
perspectives on it and metally re-run the film in the light of what
they'd said.  My view of it wasn't unanimously shared, of course.

Given that my last recommendation turned out to be so dire, I'm only
hesitatingly suggesting I'm Not Afraid next week, but if anyone does
fancy it then let's meet up.
