Just to add to the general air of cynicism, may I chip in my sixpence worth!

Royce mentioned that 90% of what' s wrong is down to Bristol City
Council. Some of that is attributable to what it (BCC) calls its
'partners'; ordinary mortals call them contractors. Besides overcharging
the city for their particular services in the first place, these seem to
save their least competent operatives to work in Easton. Thus thanks to
SITA and others (landscape contractors, etc.), the place looks like a
shithole, the streets being paved in dog excrement, vomit, litter,
discarded furniture, needles, condoms, etc. instead of the usual
municipal gold!

Another source of dissatisfaction is the total uselessness of our local
police. Never seen except heavily tooled up to deal with the most minor
incident, but always heard in that bloody helicopter of theirs,
particularly if you want an early night!

Get to learn the group clichés too. One for starters: Would they allow
this to happen in Clifton?
