ATRIUM ARRESTS 31 IN DRUGS OPERATION ( Easton )
Police have arrested over 30 people as part of a special operation targeting
drug dealers and users in Easton.
Officers from Operation Atrium, the force’s nationally recognised campaign to
target the open drug market and associated
organised Jamaican crime network, have today (April 5) conducted a number of
warrants as part of the operation.
8 people were arrested today on conspiracy to supply class A drugs and a further
23 people were previously arrested for
a variety of drug offences as part of the operation.
One of the warrants was executed at the CABA Club, Stapleton Road, and an amount
of suspect drugs was recovered.
Police will now be applying to close the club using new legislation under the
anti-social behaviour act.
The Atrium operation is supporting the work of the Bristol district in
disrupting the open drugs market in the city.
Inspector Andy Coote said: “Drugs dealers are dealers of misery and suffering
to the communities of Bristol.
“The community has been very supportive in providing us with information and
we would like to thank them for their help.
“We are sending a clear message to people intending to come to Bristol to sell
and buy drugs – there is a high risk you
will be arrested and charged.
“In Bristol we are taking a tough line against both dealers and users and
neither are welcome in our city.”
