As a post-script to my earlier comments, forward the emails in this thread to:

1. Ray Priest - alleged principal (formerly headteacher) of the offending
establishment (email:
priestr@...)
2. Copy them to the Evening Pest, Western Daily Press, Indymedia, BBC Bristol,
HTV, The Bristolian, the local education
authority, etc.

I too have no children and hence no particular interest. However, had it not
been for my being encouraged academically
up to degree level, I would have ended up in a no-prospects, fiver an hour
drudge job. My own feeling about the
so-called academy is that it will churn out wonderfully athletic products who
lack the intellectual ability to escape
from a paper bag.
