Important information for all Worker Co-operatives
The Co-operative College has requested that we circulate this information
about a forthcoming training opportunity:
Dear Fellow Co-operator
In June the Co-operative College put a proposal to the Co-operative Fund
to provide a grant for the training of worker co-operatives, small
co-operatives and social enterprises. The Fund has given us sufficient
funding to pilot some training in 2007 and to develop a short module of
e-learning which will be circulated early in 2008. Attached to this email
are the details, booking form and location information for the first
event, which will be held at:
University of Birmingham Conference Park 2-3 November 2007
This event covers two aspects of key importance to worker co-operative
businesses:
Co-operative Identity and Developing Active Members will explore the
centrality of membership, co-operative identity and our co-operative
values and principles to modern co-operative businesses and examine how
they can give worker co-operatives a clear advantage in the market place.
Financial Decision Making aims to develop participants? abilities to
evaluate and make effective financial decisions and will review the steps
involved in the decision making process.
The event will start at 10.00 am on Friday Nov 2 and end at 4.30 pm on
Saturday Nov 3. Because the Co-operative Fund is supporting the
development and delivery of the event the cost is significantly reduced to
just £100 per person including meals and accommodation.
To book places, please complete the booking form that is attached to this
email and return it to Annette Haworth at
annette@....
I look forward to seeing you at the event
Yours sincerely
Chris Cooper
