Hi
Eastside Roots again
Apologies for rearranging tomorrow at last minute - but how about a bit of free training?
Are you interested in leading a weekly, or a Saturday (once a month), volunteer project at our Stapelton Road Train Station site?
Tasks you would lead include activities such as planting seedlings, creating beautiful hanging baskets, making compost bays, building raised beds, making signs, help design three gardens, and create a safe storage solution for our tools. You would welcome the volunteers, give them a health & safety talk, show them the work to be completed and then organise the team......ensuring plenty of tea lubrication at all times.
If so we can put you on a first aid course a week friday on 7th March. We can also offer free Environmental Health & Safety training this Friday 28th February (assuming there is still spaces) and a full induction training weekend in March, based in a classroom & on site, learning to lead volunteer groups in Gardening Projects.
Further training will be organised at review meetings each month.
I hope you agree that this is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, get fit, be amongst green stuff and help build a very positive community space.
If you are interested or just want to find out more call Nick on 9555451.
Warm wishes
Nick
